Robins U18s were today celebrating a huge achievement after winning the 2014-15 Wiltshire FA Youth Cup. A tense final played at Stanley Park in Chippenham saw the Robins lads rise to the big occasion and run out 1-0 winners against New College Academy.
The crucial goal came just before half time as Kieran O'Daly latched onto a great ball in from Sam Lowrie to grab the winner. The second half saw some great play from both sides as Robins held on to repel New College attacks while trying to grab a second goal of their own. In the end it wasn't needed as resolute defending all over the pitch was enough to secure the win, a great game with some very good football played by both sides.
A justifiably very proud coach Tony Smith commented "I'm absolutely delighted, the boys deserve it, they've worked really hard all season and this is the pinnacle of their achievements this year. They've done excellently." Well said, Tony, everyone at Robins is extremely proud of you and the whole team.
