Robins FC: Safeguarding Statement

In the light of recent media coverage of safeguarding issues in children's football, Robins FC would like to reassure parents that we have comprehensive safeguarding policies in place to ensure the safety and well being of all our young players. All of our coaches are trained to at least FA Level 1 standard, as part of which coaches must pass the FA Safeguarding certificate, and all of our coaches undergo the FA Enhanced CRC (Criminal Records Check) checks. Both the CRC and the Safeguarding certificates are renewed every 3 years to ensure that coaches stay current with best practice. In line with FA recommendations, child welfare within the club is overseen by our Child Welfare Officer, Teresa Trueman, who has undertaken additional training as part of this role. Any concerns in this area can be reported to Teresa in person or by email (teresa@robinsfc.co.uk) or to our Club Chairman, Paul Wainwright, himself a professional Youth Worker ( justkidding@btinternet.com).

The club is examined annually on these criteria by the FA as part of the renewal of our Charter Standard Development Status so parents can rest assured that their children are being coached in a safe and welcoming environment by coaches following best practice in child safeguarding and welfare. The club's Safeguarding policy, based on the FA model policy, is available to download from the club website here

We hope this reassures parents that Robins FC is committed to maintaining the highest standards of child welfare within all of our teams, as well as excellent football!
