An emphatic 4-0 win over Salisbury City Youth on Sunday has secured a place for Robins U11A in the 2012-13 Wiltshire County Cup Final. An exciting game was played out at the home ground of Downton FC, just south of Salisbury, the second time the team have been to the city in a campaign that's already taken in defeats of Amesbury, Trowbridge Wanderers, Chippenham Youth and Highworth in previous rounds.

But although the team had been to the city, we hadn't met our semi-final opponents before and as they play in a different league knew next to nothing about them. Robins fans needn't have worried the lack of foreknowledge would hamper the team as they blew away their opponents with a fantastic team performance. Robins took control of the game early on and never let up, eventually winning the game a deserved 4-0

Delighted manager Dave Murray said "We've seen some great performances from this team over the years but in all the years I've been coaching them, this was the most complete all-round performance I have seen from the boys. Awesome!". The win takes the boys to a prestigious final of the County's premier youth cup competition against old friends Swindon Rangers who they'll also be facing in the semi-final of the League Cup in a few weeks - both promise to be excellent games. The date and venue of the County Cup final have yet to be confirmed, although it is provisionally set for April 21st in Devizes. Keep checking back for further updates as and when the date is definitely confirmed.
